Job description
Step into a rewarding full-time contract opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a vibrant school setting. This position runs from now through June 6, 2025, encompassing both the extended school year (ESY) and the next school year (NSY). Work alongside a collaborative team dedicated to helping children achieve communication milestones.
Your day will be structured with regular hours from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, providing speech-language services primarily in small group settings-each group lasting 20-30 minutes with 2 to 4 students. You'll also have the chance to provide one-on-one support for preschoolers and younger students, making a real impact in their early development.
Key Qualifications:
Current California SLPA license required
Experience providing speech-language services in school or healthcare settings
Skilled at working with children in small groups and individually
Clear communication skills and a compassionate, patient approach
Ability to collaborate with supervising SLPs, teachers, and families
Responsibilities: Deliver direct speech-language therapy in accordance with student IEPs
Document sessions accurately and maintain thorough progress records
Adapt materials and activities to engage diverse student learners
Support supervising SLPs in assessment, planning, and intervention strategies
Foster a positive, encouraging learning environment for all students
