This contract SLPA opportunity is based within a public school district in the beautiful Rowan County region of North Carolina, serving students in the Rowan-Salisbury Schools. The region offers a strong sense of community pride, well-regarded schools, and a variety of recreational and cultural activities, making it an appealing place to build both a career and a life.In this school-based SLPA role, you will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to support students across preschool and/or K-12 settings. Depending on the specific assignment, you may serve one school or rotate between multiple campuses within the district. The typical schedule follows the school calendar, generally Monday through Friday, during school hours, providing predictable daytime work and alignment with academic breaks.Key responsibilities include: Implementing speech-language treatment activities designed by the supervising SLP to address IEP goalsProviding direct services to students in individual and small-group settings within classrooms, therapy rooms, and other school environmentsSupporting speech and language interventions that may target articulation, receptive and expressive language, fluency, social communication, and functional communicationAssisting with preparation and organization of therapy materials, visual supports, and communication tools, including low-tech AAC strategies as directedAccurately collecting and recording student performance data during sessions and reporting progress to the supervising SLPFollowing all IEPs, intervention plans, schedules, and service delivery models as outlined by the supervising SLP and school teamCollaborating with teachers, related service providers, and school staff to support carryover of communication strategies in the classroomProviding clear, professional communication with staff and families within the scope of SLPA practice and under SLP supervisionMaintaining confidentiality and adhering to district policies, state rules, and ethical guidelines for school-based practiceParticipating in team meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities as requested by the districtA typical day in this position may include a mix of direct therapy sessions, classroom support, collaborative planning with the supervising SLP, and documentation time. You can expect to work as part of a caring, student-focused team that values collaboration and support. Required Qualifications
Speech/Language Pathologist Assistant, School Licenses: SLPA-NC References: 1 Reference in entire work history &bull
tFull-Time Hours, Monday-Friday &bull
tBachelors in Speech/Communication Sciences and Disorders or obtain a certificate (or has met educational requirements for position in state of practice) &bull
tActive Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) license or alternate credential as required by state of practice.
Preferred Qualifications
