nBuffalo Hearing & Speech is currently looking for a full time Speech Language Pathologist for our speech clinic located in Williamsville, who is able to supervise graduate students as part of their schedule. This position is responsible for preventing, assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in both pediatric and adult patients.

nEssential Functions:
nnnImparting knowledge via the implementation of appropriate Speech-Language Pathology instruction
n
nnCandidate will supervise from 1-3 graduate students per semester at the Williamsville clinic.
n
nnProductivity and schedule will be adjusted to allow adequate supervision time.
n
nnStipends will be paid for each student at the end of each semester.
n
nnDisplay competence in the area of speech-language impairment (either licensed or under the careful direction and supervision of a licensed SLP). Determines type and severity of speech-language impairment, under careful supervision if unlicensed SLP. Determines prognosis and appropriate instruction and treatment for speech-language impairments.
n
nnEvaluation, diagnosis, and recommendation for therapeutic intervention for individuals with communication disorders. Working collaboratively with other professionals such as the classroom teacher, other SLPs, OTs, PTs, Audiologists, supervisors and other as appropriate.

nnSubmits written reports of the evaluations, treatment and educational plans, progress reports, and discharge reports as appropriate. Maintain paperwork within legal and agency guidelines. Ensures paperwork is completed in a timely and organized fashion.

nnMakes appropriate referrals as needed in order to affect positive therapeutic results.
n
nnCommunicates regularly with family/student.
n
nnExhibit professional judgment, maturity, and upgrades professional knowledge through involvement in continuing education programs. Participate in the delivery of and/or attend in-service programs. Participate in formal staff training. Maintain SLP licensure and TSSLD certification.

nnLicensed Speech Pathologists are required to supervise CFYs and TSSLDs appropriately, ensuring legal guidelines and agency policies are precisely followed.
n
nnAny other duty as requested by your supervisor.

n nEducation Required:
nMaster’s degree from University/College of accredited speech language pathology program
nCandidate has completed at minimum nine months of full time clinical experience, or the part time equivalent, as an ASHA Certified clinician.
nCandidate will complete minimum of 2 hours of professional development in the area of clinical instruction and supervision.
nRequired License/Registration/ Certification:
nnnNew York State licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (or CFY eligible)
n
nnCertificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) (or CFY eligible)
n
n nPhysical Requirements:
nnnPhysical actions may include, but are not limited to; bending, kneeling, standing, squatting, reaching, printing, crawling, and running.
n
nnVision, speech, tactical and hearing senses adequate to perform job requirements.
n
nnFrequent sitting/ standing and when appropriate, floor sitting with pediatric patients.
