Speech Language Pathologist - Clinical SLP

Key Responsibilities

Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using standardized assessments and observations.

Develop individualized treatment plans addressing both immediate and long-term communication, cognition, and swallowing goals.

Deliver speech therapy sessions emphasizing language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapists, occupational therapists, physicians, nurses, families, and caregivers.

Educate patients and families to reinforce progress beyond therapy sessions.

Occasionally participate in inpatient therapy to ensure seamless patient care.

Maintain accurate documentation in line with state and federal regulations.

Stay current with professional knowledge through continuing education.

Education and Requirements

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (if not yet ASHA-certified).

Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.

Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required within 30 days of hire).

Skills

Strong knowledge of evidence-based treatments for developmental and acquired disorders.

Excellent interpersonal skills to connect with patients, families, and teams.

Ability to adapt therapy approaches for diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Clinical judgment combined with creative problem-solving.

Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation.
