We are seeking a compassionate and skilledSpeech-Language PathologistPRN (per diem) to join our team and contribute to the rehabilitation and well-being of our patients who are currently receiving our services in theDenton, TXand surrounding areas ofDenton County.
nThe Speech-Language Pathologist will provide therapeutic techniques for the rehabilitation of patients with speech, language, hearing, oral motor, swallowing, and cognitive disorders. This role involves planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans to restore or maintain patient well-being and participating in the coordination of care.
nRequirements
nnnMaster’s or Doctoral Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.
n
nnCurrent State License in Speech-Language Pathology or meets the requirements listed in 42 CFR §484.115(n); current Driver’s License.
n
nnOne year of experience in an acute care, rehabilitation setting, or home health preferred.
n
nnTherapy skills in line with generally accepted standards of practice; good interpersonal skills; proof of current CPR.
n
nnReliable transportation and valid auto liability insurance.

nnPerform ongoing clinical assessments, including OASIS assessments, at appropriate time points to identify patient needs, determine level of functioning, and assess appropriateness for home care.
n
nnDevelop and evaluate the plan of care in partnership with the patient, their representative, and caregivers.
n
nnPrepare and complete clinical notes, phone orders, and other clinical record documentation in a timely manner.
n
nnAnalyze patient needs and provide appropriate care as ordered by the physician, revising the plan of care based on ongoing assessments.
n
nnProvide therapeutic treatments for speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders using appropriate tests and measurements.
n
nnApply infection control and universal precautions to prevent contamination and transmission of disease.
n
nnAccept clinical assignments consistent with education and competence and provide supervision and guidance to home health aides as appropriate.
n
nnCommunicate with all physicians involved in the plan of care and other health care practitioners as necessary.
n
nnProvide patient, caregiver, and family counseling and education.
n
nnUtilize effective interpersonal relations and communication skills, facilitating the use of these skills by other team members to achieve desirable outcomes.
n
nnMeet mandatory continuing education requirements and participate in the Agency’s QAPI program and in-service training.
n
