nBuffalo Hearing & Speech Center is looking for licensed pediatric Speech Language Pathologists who are interested in picking up cases working with school-age students during the school day and/or after school hours. We have cases available throughout Western New York and services will occur in schools, homes, and/or other community locations. We pay:
nnn$42 per completed 30 minute session
n
nn$63 per completed 45 minute session
n
nn$84 per completed 60 minute session

n nThe Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis, and recommendation for therapeutic intervention for young children with communication disorders. In addition, responsibilities include the implementation of an appropriate Speech-Language Pathology treatment program designed to habilitate or rehabilitate the communicatively impaired child.
nEssential Functions:
nnnDisplay competence in the area of speech-language impairment (either licensed or under the careful direction & supervision of a licensed SLP). Determines type and severity of speech-language impairment, under careful supervision if unlicensed SLP. Determines prognosis and appropriate treatment for speech-language impairments.

nnEvaluation, diagnosis, and recommendation for therapeutic intervention for individuals with communication disorders. Working collaboratively with other professionals such as the classroom teacher, other SLPs, OTs, PTs, Audiologists, supervisors and other as appropriate.

nnImplementation of an appropriate Speech-Language Pathology treatment program
n
nnSubmits written reports of the evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, and discharge reports as appropriate. Maintain paperwork within legal and agency guidelines. Ensures paperwork is completed in a timely and organized fashion

nnMakes appropriate referrals as needed in order to affect positive therapeutic results
n
nnCommunicates regularly with family/client
n
nnExhibit professional judgment, maturity, and upgrades professional knowledge through involvement in continuing education programs. Participate in the delivery of and/or attend in-service programs. Participate in formal staff training. Maintain SLP licensure and TSSLD certification

nnLicensed Speech Pathologists are required to supervise CFYs appropriately, ensuring legal guidelines and agency policies are precisely followed
n
nnAny other duties as requested by your supervisor

n nRequired Education Requirements:
nMaster's degree from University/College of accredited speech language pathology program
nRequired License/Registration/ Certification:
nnnNew York State licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
n
nnCertificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
n
nnTeacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) Initial or Professional certificate or TSHH Permanent certificate
n
n nPhysical Requirements:
nnnPhysical actions may include, but are not limited to; bending, kneeling, standing, squatting, reaching, printing, crawling, and running.
n
nnVision, speech, tactical and hearing senses adequate to perform job requirements.
n
nnFrequent sitting/ standing and when appropriate, floor sitting with pediatric patients.
