Overview
nDepartment: Inpatient Rehabilitation- Speech Language Pathology
nShift’s Available:Days
nEmployment Type:Per Diem/PRN
nHours:8-hour shift (Some Weekends will be required)
nLocation:Saint John Hospital, Leavenworth, KS
nASpeech-Language Pathologist (SLP)specializes in diagnosing and treating speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. SLPs work with individuals of all ages to improve communication skills and enhance quality of life by developing and implementing individualized treatment plans. Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) work closely with other healthcare professionals and educate patients and family members about communication strategies to improve the patient's speech in their daily life.

nResponsibilities
nEssential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):
nnnAssess and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
n
nnDevelop and implement individualized treatment plans.
n
nnProvide therapy to improve articulation, fluency, voice disorders, and language comprehension.
n
nnCollaborate with teachers, parents, and other relevant professionals.
n
nnMaintain detailed records of patient evaluation, treatment, and progress.
n
nnEducate clients and family members about communication strategies.
n
nnStay updated on clinical research and advances in speech-language pathology.
n
n nQualifications
nBefore we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
nnnGraduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's in Speech Therapy
n
nnLicensed by the state in Speech-Language Pathology
n
nnCurrent BLS for healthcare providers' certification upon hire and maintain current certification
n
n nAdditional Qualifications That Are a Plus:
nnnMS degree in Speech-Language Pathology
n
nnOne year of experience with swallow assessment and treatment in an acute care hospital setting
n
nnOne year of experience in acute care
n
