nHeartland AEA is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team for the 2026–27 school year.
nHeartland AEA supports 57 public school districts, 44 accredited nonpublic schools, and 2 charter schools across central Iowa.
nThis full-time position working a 192-day contract would be based out of our Newton office serving Newton (part of Berg Middle School and grades 5-8 at Newton Christian) and Prairie City Monroe (birth to 21) school districts.
nWhat You’ll Do
nnnCollaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary team members to support students’ communication needs.
n
nnConduct speech-language assessments that are relevant to the presenting concern and meaningful within educational and home contexts.
n
nnPlan, implement, and monitor evidence-based interventions using a variety of service delivery models.
n
nnSupport the generalization of communication skills across settings through collaboration and consultation.

n nWhat We’re Looking For
nLicensure:
nnAppropriately licensed/certified by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners
n nEducation:
nnnMaster’s degree in speech pathology or communications disorders from a recognized training institution or qualified by a Statement of Professional Recognition
n
nnCertificate of Clinical Competence preferred
