nEvaluate and treat individuals in speech, language, oral and pharyngeal function, cognitive or communicative function
nJob Responsibilities and Requirements:
nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
nnnPerforms therapy interventions utilizing standard therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the condition of the patient.
n
nnEducates and counsels patients and family regarding treatment plans.
n
nnMaintains clinical records and follows performance improvement recommendations.
n
nnPlans and/or assists with patient discharge from speech therapy services. Provides information regarding appropriate support programs.
n
nnWorks in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
n
nnPerforms other duties as assigned.
n
n nEDUCATION
nnMaster's degree
n nEXPERIENCE
nnNo experience required
n nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
nnnFrequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
n
nnFrequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
n
nnFrequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
n
nnFrequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
n
nnFrequent keyboard use/data entry.
n
nnOccasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
n
nnOccasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
n
nnRare climbing.
n
n nREQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
nResuscitation Certification Requirement: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) required within 90 day of employment. Other resuscitation certifications may be required dependent on department.
