nGeneral Information

nSaint Paul Public Schools is accepting applications for Speech Language Pathologist openings throughout the district for the 2026 - 2027 school year.

nThe Human Resource Department will review your qualifications and may contact you for an interview. Applicants who are interviewed and recommended as a teacher candidate may be considered for vacancies throughout the district as they occur.

nSPPS provides competitive pay, benefits, and paid training opportunities. Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Teacher negotiated labor agreement.

nMinimum Qualifications

nA valid license in the area of Speech Pathology issued by the Minnesota Department of Education.

nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities

nnnKnowledge of research and trends in teaching and learning styles, as well as teaching and learning strategies to meet a wide range of student learning styles and abilities.

n

nnKnowledge of, and the ability to use, the due process system, including timelines and due process paperwork.

n

nnStrong interpersonal skills to include the ability to work effectively with teachers, parents and students from diverse backgrounds.

n

nnExcellent organizational and leadership skills.

n

n nResponsibilities

nResponsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties:

nnnSupport the State of Minnesota Graduation Standards and content area packages to promote curriculum in the school.

n

nnScreen, identify, assess, and diagnose disorders of communication including articulation, voice, language, and fluency. Use state eligibility criteria to make decisions regarding service eligibility.

n

nnProvide treatment and intervention, including consultation and follow-up to children, from birth to twenty-one years of age, diagnosed with communication disorders. Determine specific, reasonable, and appropriate goals and objectives and measure treatment outcomes through a program of periodic monitoring and data collection.

n

nnCounsel students and their families/caregivers and other service providers regarding specific communication disorders and their management; make referrals when appropriate.

n

nnSelect, prescribe and provide services supporting effective use of assistive technology devices and other forms of augmentative and alternative communication.

n

nnServe as case manager and advocate for the students served.

n

nnCollaborate with other professionals. Use communication skills that take into consideration the communication needs and cultural values of others.

n

nnDocument services for accountability and related billing requirements.

n

nnContribute to the District's inclusive workplace efforts by fostering a safe, welcoming and respectful environment.

n

nnPerform other related duties as assigned.

n nPAY, BENEFITS & WORK SCHEDULE Pay range for this position is: $58, 584 - $111,399Maximum hiring step = step twenty (20) The full salary schedule is listed in the Teachers contract.
