nPosition:Speech Language Pathologist
nPurpose: This is a professional position responsible to assess, diagnose, treat and help prevent speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, fluency and other related disorders.
nCompensation/Pay Range: $44,500 (negotiable based on experience)

nEssential Functions:
nnnSpeech Language Pathologists (SLPs) must be able to work across all settings, Pre-Kindergarten to High School serving students with a range of disabilities including those involving language, articulation (speech sound disorders), fluency, voice/resonance, and swallowing.
n
nnSLPs are utilized throughout the District to provide intervention services to support students and reduce academic barriers. SLPs should have a knowledge of a wide range of evaluation tools to assess students' abilities as they relate to communication.
n
nnSLPs need to possess the ability to gather and interpret data to inform instructional practices.
n
nnSLPs must be willing to complete activities such as Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, Medicaid billing, report writing, and treatment plan/therapy log development.
n
nnSLP's must be willing to engage with students and families from culturally diverse backgrounds.
n
n nAdditional Duties:
nPerforms other related tasks as assigned by the Building Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

nnnKnowledge of the modern principles and practices of Speech Language Pathology;

nnAbility to demonstrate sensitivity, maturity and dependability;

nCertification/License:
nnnNY State Certification in Speech and Language Disabilities and NYS License as a Speech Language Pathologist.
n
nnMotor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
n
n nEducation:
nnnBachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
n
nnMasters Degree in related area preferred.
n
n nExperience:
nSuccessful prior Speech Language Pathologist experience a plus. Experience working with a diverse population is desired.
