Job Description
Speech-Language Pathologist
Schedule
8 hours per shift, guaranteed 40 hours per week.
Assignment Details
Contract length: 14 weeks.
Requirements
Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or CCC eligible.
Current state license as applicable.
Proof of current CPR certification.
Reliable transportation and insurance.
Graduate of a master's level program in speech-language pathology accredited or meeting ASHA certification requirements.
Responsibilities Conduct evaluations and assess home environments to identify equipment needs related to speech and language function.
Identify speech defects and establish a Plan of Care (POC) to improve patient function.
Administer speech therapy programs using specialized techniques and equipment.
Recommend communication devices and aids as necessary.
Collaborate with other clinical staff to ensure comprehensive care aligns with the POC.
Document patient care, including progress and ongoing treatment needs.
Provide education to patients and families on tasks and resources for functional independence.
Identify needs for additional services and make referrals as appropriate.
May supervise home health aides in procedures related to the POC.
Participate in case conferences and in-service meetings as required.
