Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
nLocation: Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Denver (ACAND)-Brighton, CO
nFLSA Status: Exempt
nReports To: Director of Student Services
nWork Days: Part-time at 2-days per week (12-15 hours per week)
nSalary Range: $45 to $54 per hour
nPosition summary : This role involves developing and managing individualized educational program plans, providing therapy in individual and group settings, and collaborating with families, caregivers, and other professionals to support clients' progress. The ideal candidate holds a Master's in Speech-Language Pathology, has or is eligible for Colorado licensure, and preferably holds ASHA certification. nEssential Functions
nnConduct thorough assessments and evaluations for speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders
nDevelop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client needs
nManage Speech only identified student programs
nProvide direct therapy sessions in individual and group settings, adapting methods to best meet client progress
nCollaborate with family members, caregivers, and other health professionals to support the overall treatment plan
nMaintain accurate and detailed client records, documenting progress, challenges, and adjustments to treatment
nParticipate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings and other school or team-related discussions when required
nProvide consultation and training to caregivers, educators, and other relevant stakeholders
nComplete all required training and provide documentation as well as official college transcripts within 90 days of hire date
nDemonstrate consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for absences or tardiness to ensure minimal disruption to students, colleagues, and school operations
nDemonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken English to effectively perform their job responsibilities and communicate in the workplace
nPerform other duties as assigned
n nRequired Skills/Abilities:
nnMaster's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
nCurrent Colorado state SLP licensure or eligibility for licensure
nCertificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), preferred
nPrevious experience in a school setting preferred, with an understanding of classical education values and practices being a plus
nAbility to work effectively with diverse student populations and collaborate with parents, teachers, and administrators
nExcellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
nKnowledge of state and federal laws related to special education and mental health services
n nnStrong ethical standards and professionalism
nCommitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school environment
nCommitment to the policies, mission, and vision of Ascent Classical Academy Charter Schools Inc
nCommitment to high moral character necessary to sustain ordered liberty and constitutional self-government
nKnowledge of classical education (or the willingness and desire to learn)

nProven ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment, superior organization, and computer skills

nWillingness to complete other related duties as requested
n nPhysical Requirements:
nnMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds
nMust be able to traverse the classroom and adjust one's tone and height by bending or leaning in order to work with each child
nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, or standing
nMust be able to supervise outdoor duties
