Core Responsibilities
Conduct thorough evaluations for patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using a mix of standardized assessments and observational methods.
Craft tailored treatment plans that address both immediate targets and overarching communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
Administer individualized speech therapy sessions concentrating on communication, language, fluency, vocalization, and swallowing functions.
Collaborate closely with diverse care team members, including physical and occupational therapists, medical professionals, and families to establish unified treatment strategies.
Provide educational resources to patients and their families to facilitate progress beyond clinical encounters.
Involvement in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapeutic interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout the patient's recovery journey.
Maintain precise and prompt documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
Engage in ongoing professional development to remain abreast of innovative practices and advancements in the field.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university.
Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already ASHA-certified.
Licenses and Certifications
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first month of employment.
