Job description
Speech Language Pathologist SLP / Clinical Specialist
Transform Lives Through Communication in the Heart of California – Become a Speech Language Pathologist with Us!
Imagine if your next career endeavor not only filled a role but breathed purpose into lives — quite literally. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the captivating atmosphere of Southern California, your invaluable work will extend beyond merely treating speech and swallowing disorders. You'll enhance lives, reignite confidence, and foster connections among individuals—from children articulating their first sentences to elders reclaiming their voices.
This position is an extraordinary chance to impact a diverse range of clients throughout their various life stages, delivering care in an environment that combines outpatient therapy with select inpatient assistance. Whether your heart lies in pediatric communication development, navigating adult neurogenic disorders, or facilitating cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation for seniors, here, you will find both fulfillment and flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive evaluations for pediatric, adult, and elderly populations, ensuring the use of standard assessments and observational methodologies.
Create tailored treatment plans targeting both immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
Provide individualized speech therapy sessions that aim to improve communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
Collaborate seamlessly with an interdisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families, to establish cohesive care strategies.
Offer education for patients and their families to encourage progress outside of the clinical environment.
Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and speech therapy sessions to ensure consistent patient care throughout their recovery journey.
Maintain diligent and timely documentation following all state, federal, and organizational standards.
Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on best practices and innovations in the speech therapy field.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
Essential Skills
Expertise in evidence-based practices relevant to various age groups, alongside a solid grasp of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
Ability to modify therapeutic techniques to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation requirements.
What We Offer
Competitive salary based on experience.
Flexible work schedules to promote work-life harmony and diverse caseloads.
Opportunities to specialize in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric care.
Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday leave.
Extensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits.
Professional development support, including continuing education funding.
Inclusive, supportive team-based atmosphere centered on quality care and lifelong learning.
A Career that Inspires Movement — and Moves You
As part of this role, you will not only provide speech language therapy but also immerse yourself in a community initiative focused on restoring voices, enhancing communication, and nurturing joy through the fundamental human exchanges of understanding.
Engage with colleagues who support one another like family, within a culture that values collaboration over competition. Each patient carries a narrative, and we entrust you with the vital role of helping shape their story.
