Job description

Speech Language Pathologist SLP / Clinical Speech Therapist

Empower Lives Through Language in the Heart of Kansas – Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist

Imagine if your next career opportunity could truly give a voice to those who need it most. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the thriving community of Overland Park, your role transcends the clinical; it's about unlocking potential, fostering relationships, and restoring confidence. From bright-eyed toddlers uttering their first words to resilient seniors overcoming challenges, your impact spans generations.

This position offers a distinctive chance to work with diverse populations in settings that encapsulate both outpatient therapy and limited inpatient support. Whether your passion lies in nurturing pediatric language skills, assisting adults with neurogenic communication disorders, or aiding elderly patients in cognitive recovery, you'll find personal satisfaction and professional flexibility here.

Conduct thorough evaluations across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations utilizing both standardized assessments and practical observational techniques.

Create individualized treatment plans aimed at addressing urgent needs as well as longer-term communication and cognitive objectives.

Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions, concentrating on areas such as language, fluency, voice issues, and swallowing difficulties.

Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians, to devise comprehensive care plans.

Provide education and resources to patients and their families, ensuring their active participation in the recovery process beyond therapy sessions.

Manage occasional inpatient evaluations and speech therapy interventions to guarantee a seamless continuum of care.

Keep precise and timely records in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

Engage in continuous professional development by staying informed about the latest methodologies and collaborating with peers.

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), pending ASHA certification.

Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.

Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of employment commencement.

Expertise in evidence-based treatment approaches across age ranges, with a solid foundation in both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Exceptional interpersonal skills for connecting with patients, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues.

Ability to adjust therapy methods to cater to varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Strong clinical judgment complemented by effective problem-solving capabilities.

Fluent in navigating electronic medical records and compliance documentation.

Competitive compensation aligned with your experience.

Flexibility in scheduling, allowing for a healthy work-life balance while managing a diverse caseload.

Professional development opportunities to specialize in pediatric, neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric therapy.

Paid time off (PTO) along with paid holiday leave.

Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance packages.

Support for continuing education costs and professional growth.

A collaborative team culture focused on high-quality care and ongoing learning.

In this vital role, you will not only administer speech therapy but join a community united in restoring voices, reinforcing communication, and creating moments of joy through the most fundamental human connections: understanding and being understood.

You'll collaborate with clinicians who treat each other as family, in an environment that emphasizes teamwork over rivalry. Every patient has a unique story; we trust you to help narrate it in a way that fosters hope.

The vibe of life in Overland Park harmoniously balances innovation and traditional Midwestern hospitality. With its vibrant parks and engaging community events, this city is a paradise for those seeking an enriching lifestyle with ample outdoor adventures and cultural experiences.

Families often enjoy weekends at farmer's markets or strolling in lush parks, while outdoor enthusiasts can be found hiking picturesque trails, biking along scenic paths, or unwinding at local arts and crafts festivals. Culinary aficionados will delight in a diverse food scene ranging from cozy diners to award-winning restaurants, all serving mouth-watering dishes.

The arts scene here flourishes through an array of galleries and theaters, contributing to a richly woven tapestry of local culture and creativity. Furthermore, as a healthcare professional, you will benefit from a community with no state income tax and an attractive cost of living, creating an ideal backdrop for your burgeoning career.

Whether you are a novice eager to embark on your journey or a seasoned professional motivated to explore new avenues, this environment lends itself to both personal and professional growth.

We are searching for a Speech Language Pathologist who is not only results-oriented but also embodies compassion. You might be someone who overhears a quiet child and envisions a world of self-expression, or who interprets the hesitant words of a stroke survivor and sees resilience.

You could be a pediatric-focused specialist eager to diversify into adult therapy or a neurologically-centered clinician seeking to embrace early interventions within your practice.

Retention of genuine empathy matched with clinical skill is paramount; if you resonate with this mission, we can't wait to welcome you into our family.

If you perceive speech as more than just sound, and therapy as beyond routine tasks — if you value the trust built before setting goals, and laughter as an integral part of communication, this might just be the next exciting chapter in your career journey.

Join us in a community that honors connection, communication, and the courage to embark on new beginnings. Apply now to add your voice to our collective team — and help those around you to discover and reclaim theirs.
