Speech Language Pathologist SLP / Clinician

Transform Lives Through Communication in Stunning San Diego – Become a Speech Language Pathologist with Us

If you've ever dreamed of a career that truly speaks to your passion, look no further. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the sunny paradise of San Diego, your contributions will extend well beyond treating communication and swallowing disorders. Here, you'll unlock potential in every voice, restore confidence, and forge deep human connections. From the delightful giggles of children saying their first words to empowering seniors as they regain their independence, your impact will resonate throughout the community.

This role presents an extraordinary opportunity to work with individuals from all walks of life and across varying age groups. You'll engage in a blend of outpatient therapy sessions with occasional inpatient assessments — a chance to integrate diverse experiences. Whether your heart belongs to the world of pediatric speech development, adult neurogenic disorders, or helping seniors with cognitive-linguistic challenges, this environment nurtures your passion and supports your career journey.

Position Responsibilities

Assess patients encompassing pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standardized assessments alongside observational methods.

Create individualized treatment plans that cater to immediate objectives as well as long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing goals.

Deliver one-on-one therapeutic interventions focusing on language, speech, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.

Collaborate effectively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians — alongside families — in crafting unified care strategies.

Provide education to patients and their families, enriching their understanding and ability to foster progress outside of therapy sessions.

Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations to maintain continuity of care throughout recovery.

Ensure documentation is precise, timely, and adheres to local, state, and federal regulations.

Pursue ongoing professional development through continuing education opportunities and collaborative engagement with peers.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.

Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.

BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Key Skills

Expertise in evidence-based treatment approaches for individuals of all ages, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Outstanding communication skills, fostering rapport with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.

Adept at adapting therapeutic techniques to honor diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Exemplary clinical judgment and solid problem-solving skills.

Comfort with electronic medical records and documentation practices.

Employee Benefits

Competitive salary relative to experience.

Flexible scheduling options to promote work-life balance with varied patient caseloads.

Opportunities to specialize your practice in pediatrics, neurology, or geriatrics.

Paid time off (PTO) along with holiday pay.

Access to medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.

Support for continuing education reimbursement and professional growth.

A collaborative atmosphere centered around quality care and lifelong learning.

A Transformative Career Awaits You

In this position, you'll not only be a therapist but also a vital part of a collective mission: to restore voices, enhance communication, and create joyful moments through meaningful human interaction.

Here, you'll join a team that feels like family, emphasizing community collaboration over competition. Every patient entrusts you with their story; it's your role to help guide how it unfolds.
