Job description

Speech Language Pathologist - SLP / Communication Specialist

Enhance Voices and Change Lives in Nashville – Join Us as a Speech Language Pathologist

Imagine a career where your next step resonates with purpose — through every word spoken. As a Speech Language Pathologist in Nashville, a city brimming with musical heritage and Southern charm, your role transcends the treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. It is a chance to empower individuals, boost self-confidence, and strengthen bonds — from young children experiencing their first sounds to older adults striving to regain their independence.

This position offers the perfect blend of flexibility and fulfillment, allowing you to work with diverse populations in a dynamic environment. Whether your passion lies in pediatric speech development, adult communication challenges post-stroke, or cognitive support for the elderly, here you will discover an array of opportunities and camaraderie.

Assess patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups utilizing standard assessments and observational insights.

Craft tailored treatment strategies that cater to both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.

Deliver individualized speech therapy focusing on language, fluency, voice, and swallowing techniques.

Engage in collaborative efforts with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to establish holistic care plans.

Educate patients and their families to enhance therapy effectiveness outside the clinical setting.

Conduct occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to guarantee consistent care throughout the therapeutic journey.

Document patient progress thoroughly and promptly according to state, federal, and organizational standards.

Commit to continual learning by keeping current with the latest developments in the field.

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those yet to achieve ASHA certification.

State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.

Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) awarded by ASHA.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.

Expertise in evidence-based treatment practices for all ages and a strong grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Exceptional interpersonal communication skills for engaging with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Ability to customize therapy to respect and meet various cultural and linguistic requirements.

Strong clinical insight and adept problem-solving capacities.

Comfortable navigating electronic health records and maintaining documentation standards.

Competitive salary aligned with experience.

Flexible hours to ensure a harmonious work-life balance with diverse caseloads.

Opportunities for specialization in pediatrics, neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.

Paid time off (PTO) alongside holiday pay.

Various health insurance options, including medical, dental, vision, and life coverage.

Reimbursement for continuing education and support for professional advancement.

A passionately collaborative environment prioritizing quality care and lifelong learning.

In this position, you won't just deliver speech therapy; you'll join a community committed to restoring voices, enhancing communication, and creating heartfelt moments through the power of understanding.

You'll become part of a tightly-knit team where clinicians support each other in a culture that values collaboration over competition. Every patient's journey is unique; we trust you to play an essential role in telling their story.

Nashville offers an irresistible blend of cultural vibrancy and natural beauty, creating a lifestyle that's both enriching and relaxing. With a backdrop of rolling hills, lush parks, and anchored by the historic Cumberland River, this city is a playground for nature enthusiasts and culture lovers alike.

Families often gather in public spaces to enjoy music festivals and outdoor concerts, while adventurous spirits can take to scenic trails, paddle the local waterways, or meander through the city's renowned food scene, where Southern comfort food meets innovative culinary artistry.

The local art scene bursts with creativity at every corner, from murals adorning building facades to the sounds of live performances filling the air. Additionally, for working professionals, Nashville's economic landscape is flourishing, complete with no state income tax, a manageable cost of living, and a rapidly growing healthcare sector that creates a fertile ground for career development.

Whether you are just starting your journey in speech therapy or an experienced clinician seeking new horizons, you'll find ample opportunities for personal and professional growth in this thriving city.

We are on the lookout for a Speech Language Pathologist whose motivations go beyond metrics; you are driven by compassion. You envision the future for every child who struggles to express themselves and feel the resilience of a stroke survivor striving to communicate again.

You might be someone specializing in pediatrics seeking to broaden your expertise to include adult practice or a clinician skilled in neuro conditions eager to dive into the pediatric realm.

If you're passionate about making a difference in lives, ready to lend your heart and skills to this mission, we want you on our team.

Join us in a community that champions connection, communication, and the bravery it takes to start anew. Apply now to lend your talents to our team — and help others discover their voices once more.
