nResponsibilities
nAs a Home Health Speech Language Pathologist , You will:
nnnCommunicate with patients to evaluate their levels of speech or language difficulty, determining the need for continued therapy services
n
nnTeach patients how to make sounds and improve their voices
n
nnTeach alternative communication methods, such as sign language, to patients with little or no speech capability
n
nnEducate and guide healthcare team members, patients, and caregivers in specific aspects of therapeutic exercises to support continued progress outside of direct therapy sessions
n
nnDocument appropriate progress and clinical notes noting patient's response to therapy and submit visit documentation per Agency policy
n
n nQualifications
nnnGraduate of an Occupational Therapy Education program approved by CAPTE
n
nnCurrent Occupational Therapist licensure in State and American Heart Association CPR certification required ; CPR certification may be offered and completed upon hire
n
nnTwo (2) years of experience in adult occupational therapy, home health experience preferred
n
nnExcellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, basic math skills; physical therapy skills per competency checklist
n
