Transform Lives Through Communication in the Vibrant City of Houston – Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist

Imagine a career that not only expresses your passion for words but also instills hope and connection within the community. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the dynamic heart of Houston, your influence will extend far beyond treating communication and swallowing disorders; you will empower individuals to rediscover their voices, rekindle their confidence, and forge meaningful connections, bridging the gaps across generations—from young children learning their first words to older adults regaining their independence.

This extraordinary position offers an invaluable chance to work with a diverse patient demographic, providing both outpatient therapy and occasional inpatient support. Whether your expertise lies in pediatric speech development, adult neurogenic communication challenges, or rehabilitating cognitive processes in seniors, you will find a rewarding and flexible environment at our clinic.

Role Responsibilities

Conduct thorough evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations utilizing standard assessments and clinical observations.

Create tailored treatment plans that focus on immediate targets as well as long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.

Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions that emphasize language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing rehabilitation.

Collaborate seamlessly with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and caregivers to develop integrated care approaches.

Engage in patient and family educational programs to enhance progress beyond clinical appointments.

Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring consistent care throughout the recovery journey.

Maintain up-to-date and precise documentation following state, federal, and organizational regulations.

Commit to continual learning and peer engagement to stay abreast of innovations and best practices in the field.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

Successfully completed a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.

Certifications

Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.

Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA highly preferred.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.

Essential Skills

Strong grasp of evidence-based approaches to treatment for individuals of all ages, paired with a deep understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Exceptional interpersonal skills, facilitating meaningful interactions with patients, their families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Adept at modifying therapeutic techniques to accommodate the diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds of clients.

Capability to exercise strong clinical judgment and innovative problem-solving skills.

Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation standards.

Perks and Benefits

Competitive salary aligned with experience, ensuring your efforts are recognized.

Flexible work schedules to promote a balance between personal life and professional responsibilities.

Opportunities to focus on specialized areas such as pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric care.

Generous paid time off (PTO) along with holiday pay.

Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options.

Support for continuing education and ongoing professional development.

A collaborative atmosphere focused on exceptional patient care and lifelong learning.
