Job description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-5 students in a specialized center-based program focused on learners with intellectual disabilities. Your expertise in speech-language pathology will be put to use as you collaborate closely with a dedicated educational team, ensuring every child's communication needs are met.
Preferred Background:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Current state licensure and ASHA CCCs (or eligibility in process)
Previous experience in school settings, particularly working with students with intellectual disabilities
Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices is highly advantageous
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a flexible caseload
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities for working with students, educators, and families
Key Responsibilities: Conduct speech and language assessments tailored to individual student needs
Attend and contribute actively to IEP meetings as a valued team member
Deliver both direct therapy and consultative/indirect services as outlined in student IEPs
Develop individualized treatment plans and set appropriate goals
Adapt interventions for students who utilize speech-generating or assistive devices
Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to integrate speech goals across learning environments
Maintain thorough documentation and support compliance within special education processes
