Speech Language Pathologist - SLP New York
Embrace the Art of Communication in the Big Apple – Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist
What if your next position could transform lives and spark connection, one word at a time? As a Speech Language Pathologist in New York City, you'll be at the forefront of helping individuals of all ages overcome communication and swallowing challenges. Your expertise will be more than just therapy; it will be a catalyst for growth and empowerment—nurturing the vocal dreams of toddlers just beginning to talk and aiding in the recovery of seniors regaining their voices after hardships.
This remarkable opportunity allows you to impact a diverse population across all life stages within a setting that seamlessly integrates outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient care. Whether your passion lies in nurturing the verbal development of children, supporting adults with neurogenic communication disorders, or enhancing cognitive-linguistic abilities in seniors, you'll find a role that resonates with your professional ambitions.
Conduct evaluations for a variety of age groups—from children to seniors—utilizing standardized assessment tools and thorough observational methods.
Craft tailored treatment plans that address both immediate challenges and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing demands.
Deliver individualized speech therapy focused on enhancing language skills, voice modulation, fluency, and swallowing functions.
Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and family members to design effective care approaches.
Provide education to patients and their families to foster progress beyond the therapy sessions.
Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring a unified approach to patient care throughout their healing journey.
Maintain thorough and prompt documentation in adherence to state, federal, and internal protocols.
Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated with the latest advancements in Speech Language Pathology through ongoing education and team collaboration.
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
A completed supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of hire.
Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies applicable to all age groups, including a solid understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Outstanding interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Capacity to modify therapy approaches to meet diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong clinical judgment and adept problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
Competitive salary that reflects your expertise.
Flexible work hours allowing for optimal work-life harmony.
Specific pathways to specialize in pediatric care, adult neuro rehab, or geriatric therapy.
Generous paid time off (PTO) along with paid holidays.
Healthcare benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options.
Support for continuing education and professional growth initiatives.
A supportive atmosphere fostering teamwork and a commitment to providing top-notch care.
In this role, you'll not only provide speech therapy; you'll become an integral part of a community dedicated to rejuvenating voices and enhancing communication. You'll be surrounded by colleagues who value each other as family and thrive in an environment where collaboration takes precedence over competition. Each patient's journey is unique, and we trust you to play a pivotal role in their narratives.
