Speech Language Pathologist - SLP

Transform Lives Through the Power of Words in Vibrant Newark, New Jersey – Become a Speech Language Pathologist

Imagine a career where every word you facilitate fosters purpose and meaning — this is your chance. As a Speech Language Pathologist within the dynamic community of Newark, your expertise will do so much more than remedy communication and swallowing disorders; it will empower individuals, revitalize self-assurance, and cultivate authentic connections. You will make a significant difference in the lives of everyone, from young children finding their first expressions to older adults regaining their voice.

This position provides an exceptional chance to make an impact across varied age groups in a setting that masterfully blends outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient care. Whether your passions lie with the playful sounds of childhood speech development, the intricacies of adult aphasia, or supporting seniors in enhancing their cognitive abilities, your journey of professional growth and fulfillment awaits.

Conduct comprehensive assessments for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using standardized tests and observational methods.

Create individualized treatment plans targeting both immediate objectives and a patient's overall communication and swallowing aspirations.

Deliver tailored speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language acquisition, fluency, voice, and swallowing techniques.

Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to ensure synchronized care plans.

Engage patients and their families in educational discussions to promote ongoing progress outside therapy sessions.

Participate in occasional inpatient assessment and therapy, ensuring a smooth transition of care throughout the patient's recovery process.

Maintain precise and timely patient documentation according to state, federal, and institutional regulations.

Continue to expand your knowledge through professional development opportunities and collaborative networks.

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those yet to achieve ASHA certification.

State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.

Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.

Expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities appropriate for all age groups, with a keen understanding of both developmental and acquired speech and swallowing disorders.

Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.

Competence in adapting therapeutic techniques to meet a diverse array of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Strong critical thinking and clinical problem-solving abilities.

Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation practices.

Competitive salary reflective of experience.

Flexible scheduling enhancing your work-life harmony and providing diverse caseloads.

Specialization opportunities in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.

Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday remuneration.

Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.

Support for continuing education and career advancement.

A collaborative team atmosphere dedicated to delivering quality care and fostering lifelong learning.

A Career that Inspires Growth — and Growth that Inspires You

As a Speech Language Pathologist here, your role transcends traditional boundaries of therapy. You will engage in a mission filled with passion, with the task of helping voices be heard, fostering connections, and generating joy through simple yet profound acts of communication.

Working alongside a committed team that prioritizes collaboration over competition, you will immerse yourself in patient journeys that turn obstacles into triumphs. Each individual has a narrative, and together, we will honor and influence those stories.
