As a Speech Language Pathologist in the breathtaking landscapes of Anchorage, your role transcends the mere delivery of therapy, blossoming into an opportunity to enhance communication and swallowing abilities in individuals from all stages of life. From active children forming their first sentences to resilient seniors regaining their autonomy, your contributions will illuminate newfound confidence and connections in their stories.

This position invites you to engage with a diverse spectrum of patients in a dynamic environment that marries outpatient services with occasional inpatient care. You can dive deep into your passions, whether you focus on pediatric speech development, adult communication disorders stemming from neurological conditions, or cognitive rehabilitation for the elderly. Flexibility and fulfillment await you here.

Create tailored treatment strategies that target both immediate and future communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.

Implement one-on-one speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication skills, language development, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing capabilities.

Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, physicians, nurses, caregivers, and family members, to forge unified care plans.

Educate patients and their families to foster growth beyond therapy sessions.

Occasionally evaluate and treat inpatient cases, ensuring there's a seamless transition in care from hospital to outpatient settings.

Maintain comprehensive and timely documentation that complies with all applicable regulations and standards.

Stay ahead of your profession through continuous learning and professional collaboration.

Qualifications

A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is necessary if you have not yet achieved ASHA certification.

Certification Requirements

Hold a valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.

Possess a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA, preferred.

Achieve Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of joining.

Desired Skills

Thorough knowledge and expertise in evidence-based practices for patients across the lifespan, coupled with an understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Exceptional communication skills to build relationships with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

Competence in adapting therapeutic interventions to address varied cultural and linguistic needs.

Strong analytical skills and clinical judgment to inform therapy practices.

Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.

Perks and Benefits

Attractive salary in line with your experience.

Flexible scheduling to promote a healthy work-life balance alongside a varied patient roster.

Opportunities for specialization in fields such as pediatrics, adult rehabilitation, or geriatrics.

Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.

Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options.

Support for continuing education and professional growth.

A nurturing, collaborative environment that emphasizes quality care and ongoing learning.
