Imagine a career where your passion for helping others converges with the power of speech. As a Speech Language Pathologist in one of the most dynamic cities in the Midwest, your daily contributions will extend beyond treating communication and swallowing challenges — you will enhance lives, build connections, and inspire confidence among individuals of all ages. From the bright-eyed children taking their first verbal steps to the resilient seniors working towards independence, every interaction will matter.

This position offers a rewarding opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients in an environment that seamlessly integrates outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient support. Whether your heart lies in advancing pediatric language acquisition skills, supporting adults with neurogenic communication disorders, or aiding seniors with speech and cognitive rehabilitation, you will discover a fulfilling and adaptable setting here.

Job Responsibilities

Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using both standardized assessments and in-depth observational methods.

Craft tailored treatment plans that focus on immediate and future communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.

Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions targeting communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing disorders.

Work alongside physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop comprehensive care strategies.

Educate patients and families to encourage progress outside the clinical environment.

Support inpatient therapy when necessary, ensuring consistent care throughout the therapy process.

Keep meticulous documentation that complies with state, federal, and organizational policies.

Engage in continuous learning and collaboration to remain current with the latest advancements in the field.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.

Licenses/Certifications

Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.

Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Essential Skills

Expertise in evidence-based treatment strategies applicable to all age groups, coupled with a comprehensive knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing issues.

Outstanding interpersonal communication skills for interaction with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Adaptability to modify therapy techniques based on diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.

Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.

What We Offer

Attractive compensation reflective of experience.

Flexible schedules promoting work-life harmony and diverse caseloads.

Opportunities to specialize in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.

Paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay.

Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.

Support for continuing education and professional growth.

A collaborative, team-oriented work environment dedicated to quality care and ongoing learning.

A Journey That Inspires Growth — for You and Your Patients
