Ignite Communication Skills Along the Beautiful Gulf Coast – Become a Speech Language Pathologist

Imagine harnessing the power of communication to change lives — that's what awaits you as a Speech Language Pathologist in the vibrant setting of Mobile, Alabama. Here, your calling transcends treating speech and swallowing disorders; you'll have the chance to unlock untapped potential, cultivate self-assurance, and foster connections that enrich the lives of your patients, from young children taking their first steps toward speech to older adults working to regain their independence.

This role presents a remarkable chance to make a difference as you serve individuals across various age groups within a setting that integrates outpatient therapy with opportunities for inpatient care. Whether your passion lies in pediatric speech development, neurogenic communication issues affecting adults, or cognitive rehabilitation for seniors, Mobile offers a fulfilling and flexible work environment that aligns with your professional interests.

Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients across all age groups using standardized assessments and observational methods.

Create tailored treatment plans that meet both immediate and long-term communicative, cognitive, or swallowing goals.

Implement individualized speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language development, fluency, voice, and swallowing.

Work closely with a collaborative team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members to ensure seamless care plans.

Deliver educational resources for patients and their families to reinforce progress beyond therapy sessions.

Participate in occasional inpatient therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring continuous patient care throughout their therapeutic journey.

Maintain precise and timely documentation that adheres to the regulatory standards set by state and federal guidelines.

Engage in ongoing learning and collaboration with peers to stay ahead of advancements in the field.

A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you have not yet achieved ASHA certification.

State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.

Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods across all demographics, with a profound understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Exceptional communication skills to engage with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.

Ability to adapt therapeutic approaches to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.

Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation requirements.

Competitive salary reflective of your experience and skills.

Flexible scheduling to enhance work-life balance and manage diverse patient caseloads.

Chance to specialize in areas like pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric care.

Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday benefits.

Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options available.

Support for ongoing education costs and professional growth.

Team-oriented atmosphere focusing on top-tier care and continuous learning.

Shape Lives with Your Passion – and Yours May Be Next

In this position, you will not only deliver speech therapy but will also weave yourself into the fabric of a community dedicated to transforming lives through the art of communication. Picture yourself working alongside colleagues who value compassion and unity, in a nurturing atmosphere conducive to innovation. Every patient journey is a testament to resilience; we invite you to help narrate their stories.

Experience the joy of exploring local parks, enjoying nearby beaches, and participating in lively festivals that showcase the community's strong spirit.

Families relish weekend picnics along the scenic waterfront, while adventure seekers can indulge in water sports, fishing, and delightful culinary experiences at the plethora of restaurants serving fresh seafood and regional favorites. The community thrives on artistic expression, and you will find inspiration in the many galleries, theaters, and live music venues that highlight the area's creativity.

For those contemplating a career move, Mobile provides not just job prospects but a favorable quality of life, marked by no state income tax, and an affordable cost of living that allows for a comfortable lifestyle without sacrificing enjoyment.

Ready to take the next step in your professional journey? Here, you will find both personal and career growth opportunities that allow you to blossom and make an impact.

Whom We Seek

We are looking for a Speech Language Pathologist who approaches their work with empathy and is invigorated by the prospect of making a tangible difference. You might see a quiet child and imagine their vibrant future filled with self-expression — or recognize the struggle in a stroke survivor's voice and understand their fierce resolve to communicate.

If you are a pediatric expert eager to expand your knowledge in adult services, or a clinician specializing in neurological therapies wanting to start engaging with early intervention, we encourage you to apply.

If you possess the heart to serve and the expertise to lead, we would love to welcome you to our dedicated team.

Let's Begin This Journey Together

Do you view speech as a bridge to connection, and therapy as a nurturing partnership? If you believe in fostering trust alongside healing, and value moments of joy as much as progress, this could be your next professional chapter.

Join our mission in a supportive community where communication reigns supreme, connection is cherished, and courage is celebrated. We invite you to apply today and help us empower those in need of rediscovering their voices — together, we can achieve great things.
