Description

Assess communication needs across all age groups through thorough evaluations utilizing both standardized assessments and observational strategies.

Create individualized treatment plans that focus on both immediate and long-term goals related to communication, cognition, and swallowing.

Deliver focused speech therapy sessions tailored to enhance speech, language, fluency, and swallowing capabilities.

Work collaboratively with a team of interdisciplinary professionals, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians, to deliver integrated care.

Educate patients and families to promote their progress beyond clinical encounters.

Assist in the occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy, ensuring seamless continuity of care.

Document your observations and treatment protocols accurately, adhering to compliance regulations.

Pursue ongoing professional development to stay at the forefront of speech-language pathology practices.

Education

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.

Certifications

Licensed to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state.

Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.

BASIC Life Support (BLS) training to be completed within 30 days post-hire.

Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, their families, and the healthcare team.
