Job description

Speech Language Pathologist / SLP Specialist

Reignite Communication with Purpose in Beautiful Florida – Become a Speech Language Pathologist

Imagine a career where every word you help a client find ignites joy and confidence. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the sunny and vibrant atmosphere of Port St. Lucie, your role goes beyond addressing speech and swallowing disorders. You will help individuals articulate their dreams, regain their independence, and enhance their relationships, from young children discovering language to seniors cherishing newfound freedom.

This is a rare chance to engage with a diverse population ranging from pediatric to geriatric in a dynamic environment that balances outpatient therapy with at times, inpatient support. Whether your expertise lies in nurturing language in toddlers, addressing neurogenic communication disorders in adults, or guiding cognitive recovery in older adults, this role offers both the satisfaction of your work and the flexibility you desire.

Assess clients of various ages using recognized techniques and observational assessments to develop personalized treatment strategies.

Create tailored treatment approaches focused on short and long-term goals related to communication, cognition, and swallowing capabilities.

Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions covering areas of language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.

Collaborate seamlessly with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to establish cohesive care plans.

Provide guidance and education to patients and their families, ensuring continued progress outside of clinical sessions.

Conduct occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy, securing continuity of care throughout the entire treatment process.

Keep thorough and timely records in compliance with all relevant guidelines and regulations.

Engage in ongoing education to stay competitive in the evolving field of speech-language pathology through shared knowledge and collaboration with peers.

A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.

Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), leading to ASHA certification if applicable.

State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.

Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days post-employment.

Mastery in evidence-based therapeutic methods suitable for all ages, with a solid foundation in speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Outstanding communication skills to foster relationships with clients, families, and multi-disciplinary teams.

Ability to customize therapy techniques to meet varied cultural and linguistic needs.

Strong analytical skills and clinical judgment for problem-solving.

Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and documentation practices.

A competitive salary reflective of your experience.

Flexible scheduling designed for balanced work-life dynamics and diverse patient caseloads.

Opportunities to deepen expertise in pediatric care, adult rehabilitation, or geriatric services.

Offering paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay.

Access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with life insurance options.

Reimbursement for continuing education and supportive professional development initiatives.

A collaborative environment valuing teamwork and the pursuit of high-quality care.

A Career that Enhances Lives – and Your Own

As a Speech Language Pathologist in this community-focused role, you will not just engage in therapy; you will partake in a mission to elevate communication, arms of support, and camaraderie through understanding and connection.

You'll collaborate with colleagues who share a familial bond, with a mutual belief in cooperation over competition. Each client is unique, and we trust you to be the catalyst in narrating their journey forward.

Why You'll Relish Calling Port St. Lucie Home

In an area where the beaches greet you with warm breezes and the vibrant culture excites the spirit, Port St. Lucie provides a fascinating mix of relaxation and opportunity. From leisurely strolls along the stunning coastline to community events filled with art and music, it captures the essence of the Floridian lifestyle.

Families revel in local parks and enjoy the grouped outdoor festivities, while adventure seekers kayak through serene waterways or explore nature trails that unveil the hidden beauty of the region. And for food enthusiasts, there's an eclectic dining scene ranging from casual eateries to upscale restaurants catering to every palate.

The region's creative spirit is evident in its art galleries and lively festivals, bringing diverse communities together in celebration and shared experiences. As a professional, you'll appreciate the absence of state income tax and the affordable cost of living, allowing your career to flourish in a supportive healthcare ecosystem.

No matter if you're a recent graduate or a seasoned therapist wishing to expand your skills, you will find room for personal and professional growth here.

Who We're Searching For

We are on the lookout for a passionate Speech Language Pathologist who is not just focused on outcomes but is equally driven by compassion and empathy. If you see the potential in every person you treat and are inspired by the courage it takes to recover and express oneself, you might be the perfect fit.

Maybe you're an expert in pediatric therapy looking to step into adult care or a specialist in neuro rehabilitation who wishes to include interventions at an earlier age in your work.

Whatever your specialty, if you're ready to approach your work with heart and skill, we are ready to embrace you with open arms.

Let's Create Connections – Together

If you believe that speech transcends mere sounds and that therapy goes beyond tasks, if you value building trust as a precursor to achieving goals and cherish laughter alongside language, this could very well be the next chapter of your professional narrative.

Join a community that values communication, connection, and the bravery required to embark on new beginnings. Apply today and lend your voice to our team, as we help others discover and amplify theirs.
