Job description

Speech Language Pathologist - SLP / Speech Communication Specialist

Ignite Passion for Communication in the Scenic Beauty of Arkansas – Become a Speech Language Pathologist

Imagine a career that connects you deeply with purpose — quite literally! As a Speech Language Pathologist nestled in one of Arkansas's most picturesque cities, your engagement goes far beyond managing communication and swallowing disorders. It's about unlocking possibilities, restoring self-esteem, and fostering human connection — from little ones uttering their first sounds to elderly individuals reclaiming their autonomy.

This position offers you the unique chance to work with a diverse patient demographic, spanning ages and needs, in an environment that beautifully merges outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient involvement. Whether you're drawn to the nuances of pediatric language growth, navigating the complexities of adult neurogenic communications, or enriching the cognitive-linguistic capacities of seniors, fulfillment and adaptability await you here.

Position Details

Conduct thorough evaluations of patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using trusted assessment tools and observational methods.

Create tailored treatment strategies that serve both immediate objectives and longer-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.

Deliver individualized speech therapy focused on enhancing communication, language skills, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing mechanisms.

Partner closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and family members to forge cohesive healthcare plans.

Provide education to patients and families to facilitate ongoing progress outside of therapy sessions.

Assist with rare inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout all phases of treatment.

Maintain precise and timely documentation that conforms to all regulatory and organizational guidelines.

Stay abreast of developments in the field through continuous education and collaborative discussions with colleagues.

Educational Requirements

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.

Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.

Certifications

Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.

Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first 30 days of employment.

Essential Skills

Expertise in evidence-based therapies suitable for all age groups, with a comprehensive understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Exceptional communication abilities to engage with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Flexibility to adapt therapeutic approaches to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic contexts.

Strong clinical judgment paired with problem-solving prowess.

Comfortable using electronic health record systems for accurate documentation standards.

Benefits

Compensation package reflective of experience and expertise.

Flexible scheduling options promoting work-life harmony and varied caseload experiences.

Possibilities for specialization in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric care.

Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday remuneration.

Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance offerings.

Support for continuing education and professional growth initiatives.

Welcoming, collaborative environment that emphasizes quality care and lifelong learning.

A Transformative Career Awaits You

In this role, you won't merely provide therapy; you will become an integral part of a mission rooted in compassion to restore voices, enrich communication, and nurture moments of happiness through the most profound human act — understanding and being understood.

Working closely with fellow clinicians who share a familial spirit, you will thrive in a workplace dedicated to collaboration over competition. Every patient has a story to tell; we trust you to help narrate it with empathy and skill.

Why Living and Working Here Will Captivate You

Life in this enchanting area of Arkansas harmoniously intertwines the pulse of innovation with the charm of southern hospitality. Surrounded by the breathtaking foothills and natural beauty, you'll find an ideal balance of nature's splendor, cultural vibrancy, and professional advancement.

Families come together in parks for festive picnics, while outdoor enthusiasts can hike stunning trails, kayak down serene rivers or unwind at numerous local wineries and farmers markets. Culinary aficionados enjoy a delightful spectrum, from food trucks serving up mouth-watering delights to celebrated restaurants crafting exquisite dishes inspired by local ingredients.

The area's artistic soul echoes through its murals, resonates in the bars featuring live performances by local artists, and comes alive during vibrant festivals celebrating community and culture. Beyond the enticing lifestyle, the absence of state income tax, along with an appealing cost of living and thriving healthcare industry, makes this locale a fertile ground for career growth and development.

Whether you're a fresh graduate embarking on your professional journey or an experienced clinician ready to embrace new challenges, here you will discover ample space to flourish — both personally and professionally.

Join Us — We Want You!

We are on the lookout for a Speech Language Pathologist who is led not just by outcomes but by empathy. Someone who perceives a silent child and envisions vibrant self-expression, who listens to the hesitant speech of a stroke survivor and recognizes resilience.

You might specialize in pediatric care and are eager to expand into adult services, or you could be a neuro-focused clinician wishing to integrate early intervention strategies into your practice.

Whatever your passion, if you are poised to serve with heart while leading with skill, we are excited to welcome you aboard.

Let's Connect and Make a Difference

If you think of speech as an art that transcends sound, where therapy means more than just procedures — if you understand the importance of trust in achieving goals, and embrace laughter alongside language — this opportunity may be the next rewarding chapter in your vocation.

Join us in a community that celebrates communication, collaboration, and the bravery it takes to start anew. Apply today and lend your voice to our dedicated team — enabling others to discover theirs.
