As a Speech Language Pathologist in the vibrant and culturally rich city of Tucson, your role is vital in addressing communication and swallowing challenges that affect individuals from all walks of life. Here, you're not just a therapist; you're a champion of connection, guiding children through their first words and helping seniors reclaim their ability to express themselves.

This position allows you to work with a diverse client base, providing outpatient therapy services while also engaging in inpatient care when necessary. Whether you are passionate about aiding a child with speech delays, helping adults with neurogenic communication disorders, or supporting the elderly in cognitive rehabilitation, you'll discover a fulfilling path and the flexibility to personalize your practice.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations utilizing standardized assessments and observational approaches.

Create customized treatment strategies targeting both immediate and long-term communication and swallowing needs.

Deliver individualized speech therapy that addresses language, fluency, voice, and swallowing challenges.

Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and family members to develop seamless care approaches.

Educate patients and families to foster progress and carry therapeutic strategies into their daily lives.

Participate in occasional inpatient therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Document patient progress meticulously in adherence to state regulations and organizational standards.

Engage in continuing professional development through education and collaboration with peers.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized university.

Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already ASHA-certified.

Certifications

State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.

Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.

Skills

Strong knowledge of evidence-based treatment methods suitable for all age groups, with expertise in developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, families, and clinical teams.

Flexibility in adapting therapy strategies to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Sound clinical judgment and problem-solving competencies.

Familiarity with electronic medical records and proficiency in documentation requirements.

Benefits

Competitive salary reflecting your experience and qualifications.

Flexible work hours promoting work-life harmony and a diverse patient caseload.

Options to specialize in pediatric, adult neuro rehab, or geriatrics.

Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay.

Select from comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.

Financial support for continuing education and professional development.

Join a collaborative environment focused on high-quality care and mutual growth.

Alongside a team that feels more like family, you will flourish in a nurturing atmosphere that prioritizes teamwork and shared goals. Each patient's journey is unique, and we trust you to help frame their narratives.
