Job description
NeuroRestorative, a part of the Sevita family, provides rehabilitation services for people of all ages with brain, spinal cord and medically complex injuries, illnesses and other challenges. In a variety of locations and community-based settings, we offer a range of programs, including vocational and therapy programs, day treatments, and specialized services for infants, children, adolescents, Military Service Members and Veterans.
nSpeech Language Pathologist Assistant
nPart-time Day shift (8am - 5pm) up to 24 hours per week
nStarting pay rate $32/hr. or more depending on experience
nSUMMARY
nThe Speech Pathologist Assistant provides coordinated speech therapy assistance with a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Therapy to patients of adolescent age groups under the supervision of a Licensed Speech Language Pathologist.
nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below.
nnnAdministers the speech therapy treatment plan as developed by the Speech Language Pathologist.
n
nnApplies concepts of infection control and standard precautions in performing patient care activities.
n
nnAccepts clinical assignments that are consistent with the education and competence to care for the patients.
n
nnUses effective interpersonal relations and communication skills
n
nnMeets mandatory continuing education requirements
n
nnPromotes compliance with all fiscal intermediary and/or other third party payers, through education, coaching and other assistance as necessary
n
nnDemonstrates commitment, professional growth and competency
n
nnPerforms other related duties and activities as required.
n
n nMinimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job
nThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job.
nEducation and Experience:
nnnGraduate of an accredited school of speech therapy assistant with a Bachelors Degree
n
nnOne year experience as a Speech Therapy Assistant with pediatrics
n
nnPediatric and Home Health experience preferred.
n
nnExperience with pediatric feeding/swallowing
n
nnExperience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)
n
n nCertificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
nnCurrent Florida State License to practice speech therapy
n nOther Skills and Abilities:
nnTherapy skills as set forth in the Therapy Practice Act and other regulatory agencies. Good interpersonal skills .
n nOther Requirements:
nnTravel as needed
n nPhysical Requirements:
nHeavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
