nWho We Need

nWe are currently seeking a full-time Speech Language Pathologist for our Educational Learning Experience program in New Windsor, NY, serving students pre-school -21 years of age.

nSchedule:Monday- Friday 8:30am-4:00 pm, 35 hours per week, 48 weeks per year (which includes a 6-week summer program)

nAnnual Salary:$65,271.20 - $66,271.20 a year

nResponsibilities:

nnnInitial evaluation/periodic re-evaluation

n

nnProgram planning and implementation of program

n

nnScheduling of caseload in conjunction with classroom staff and other related services

n

nnCoordination of program between student, counselor/teacher and case manager

n

nnMaintain interdisciplinary communications regarding program

n

nnReport at team meetings and or annual reviews as needed.

n

nnResponsible for speech therapy program for assigned caseload. These responsibilities include:

n

nnInitial evaluation/periodic re-evaluation

n

nnProgram planning and implementation of program

n

nnScheduling of caseload in conjunction with classroom staff and other related services

n

nnCoordination of program between student, counselor/teacher and case manager

n

nnMaintain interdisciplinary communications regarding program

n

nnReport at team meetings and or annual reviews as needed.

n

nnResponsible for written documentation as required by Abilities first Inc. policies and or appropriate programs. Must adhere to paperwork deadlines, agency forms, and content

n

nnResponsible for attending program staff meetings and parent/teacher conferences as assigned by Directors of various programs.

n

nnWork in conjunction with counselors/teachers to develop student treatment plans.

n

nnPerform related work as assigned by program Directors

n

nnIf licensed, may supervise staff speech pathologist participating in Clinical Fellowship year.

n

nnAssists in maintenance of treatment sites

n

nnProvides departmental/staff in services when indicated.

n

nnProvides list of needed therapy materials to Program Director

n

nnMay participate in Feeding Team or Augmentative Communication Team when appropriate.

n

nnMust have a current NYS driver’s license, free of moving violations *Amendable to Class E) deemed acceptable by our insurance carrier

n

nnPerforms other appropriate job-related activities as requested by your supervisor or a circumstances warrant.

nnAdheres of State Education rules and regulations. Preschool employees must adhere to Office of Children and Family Services policies.

n nRequirements

nnnCompletion of Master’s Degree Program from an accredited College/University.

n

nnLicensed by NYS Department of Education as a Speech Pathologist.

n

nnNYS teacher certification required.

n

nnExperience with oral motor, dysphagia, and augmentative communications helpful!

n

nnHave the ability to push and pull students in wheelchairs, lift, bend, squat, turn in the knees, pivot and grasp with both hands (in order to properly and safely perform the techniques taught in CPR/First Aid, behavior intervention techniques, and lifting and carrying techniques), with or without a reasonable accommodation.
