nWho We Need
nWe are currently seeking a full-time Speech Language Pathologist for our Middletown Education Program. This is 32.5-hour position 48 weeks a year. (School year will be 42 weeks with a 6-week summer program) This position is crucial to the development of children of all ages.
nSchedule:Monday- Friday 8:30am-3:30pm, 35 hours per week, 48 weeks per year (which includes a 6-week summer program)
nAnnual Salary: $65,271.20-$66,271.20.
nResponsibilities:
nnnInitial evaluation/periodic re-evaluation
n
nnProgram planning and implementation of program
n
nnScheduling of caseload in conjunction with classroom staff and other related services
n
nnCoordination of program between student, counselor/teacher and case manager
n
nnMaintain interdisciplinary communications regarding program
n
nnReport at team meetings and or annual reviews as needed.
n
nnResponsible for written documentation as required by Abilities first Inc. policies and or appropriate programs. Must adhere to paperwork deadlines, agency forms, and content
n
nnResponsible for attending program staff meetings and parent/teacher conferences as assigned by Directors of various programs.
n
nnWork in conjunction with counselors/teachers to develop student treatment plans.
n
nnPerform related work as assigned by program Directors
n
nnIf licensed, may supervise staff speech pathologist participating in Clinical Fellowship year.
n
nnAssists in maintenance of treatment sites
n
nnProvides departmental/staff in services when indicated.
n
nnProvides list of needed therapy materials to Program Director
n
nnMay participate in Feeding Team or Augmentative Communication Team when appropriate.
n
nnMust have a current NYS driver’s license, free of moving violations *Amendable to Class E) deemed acceptable by our insurance carrier
n
nnEnsures that employees follow the Code of Ethical and Legal Behavior and conform to the strictest standards of Corporate Compliance and HIPAA, as well as all federal state, local and municipal laws and regulations.

nnAdheres to ASHA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics, Behavior, which require all employees, consultants, board members, volunteer and affiliates to perform their responsibilities according to ethical and legal standards with honesty, integrity, fairness, good faith and respect for others and the law.

nnFollows all agency policy and procedures and demonstrates continuous regard to personal safety and the safety of others.

nnPerforms other appropriate job-related activities as requested by your supervisor or a circumstances warrant.

nnAdheres of State Education rules and regulations. Preschool employees must adhere to Office of Children and Family Services policies.

nnnCompletion of master’s degree Program from an accredited College/University.
n
nnLicensed by NYS Department of Education as a Speech Pathologist or CFY eligible.
n
nnNYS teacher certification required.
n
nnExperience with oral motor, dysphagia, and augmentative communications helpful!
