Speech Therapy Clinician / SLP

Discover the Power of Communication in Richmond, Virginia – Become Our Next Speech Therapy Clinician

Imagine a career where your voice leads others towards their own — a chance to make a profound impact as a Speech Therapy Clinician in one of Virginia's most historic and lively cities. In Richmond, your efforts will transcend the realm of speech and swallowing disorders, allowing individuals to blossom, regain confidence, and form connections that enrich their lives — from young children finding their voice to older adults enjoying newfound clarity.

This position offers a remarkable opportunity to work with a diverse age range, skillfully combining outpatient therapy with some inpatient care. Whether your passion lies in aiding toddlers with language milestones, addressing adult communication challenges related to neurological conditions, or providing cognitive-linguistic support to the elderly, you'll experience both fulfillment and flexibility in your role.

Assess patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups utilizing standardized assessments and observational methods.

Create individualized treatment plans that target specific short-term objectives or broader communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.

Deliver speech therapy interventions tailored to improve communication, language skills, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing functions.

Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to devise comprehensive care strategies.

Educate patients and family members to ensure progress continues outside of therapy sessions.

Support the occasional need for inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, guaranteeing a seamless treatment experience.

Maintain meticulous and timely documentation as per state, federal, and organizational standards.

Engage in ongoing professional development by staying enlightened on innovations in the field through continuing education and collaboration with peers.

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a program accredited by the appropriate governmental agency.

Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not ASHA-certified yet.

State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.

Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is advantageous.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.

Knowledge in evidence-based treatments for various age groups, possessing profound insight into both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Adept at modifying therapeutic techniques to cater to diverse cultural and linguistic circumstances.

Demonstrated clinical acumen and decision-making skills.

Proficiency with electronic medical records and adherence to documentation standards.

Attractive salary aligned with your experience and qualifications.

Flexible scheduling for an ideal work-life balance.

Possibilities to focus on pediatric care, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric services.

Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday remuneration.

Options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage.

Funding for continuing education and avenues for professional development.

A supportive, team-oriented workplace that prioritizes quality care and continuous learning.

A Journey of Impact Awaits You

In this role, you will not only apply your skills in speech therapy but also contribute to a community mission that champions voice restoration, communication enhancement, and heartfelt interactions. You'll collaborate with colleagues who consider each other family and operate within a culture that values teamwork over competition, understanding that each patient's journey is unique and worthy of nurturing.
