Spooler PositionCertex USA is seeking an experienced and dependable Spooler for our Hobbs, NM location!The Spooler is responsible for managing the process of setting up, feeding, spooling, cutting, installing and other necessary activities to complete work orders according to customer's specifications. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and adherence to safety procedures.Key Responsibilities/Essential Duties:Properly maintain all service trucks and trailersObtain/Maintain a commercial driver's licenseMaintain required logsProficient in installing wire ropes on all types of machinesProperly log hours and fill out field service ticketsReview, interpret and understand codes, instructions, and specifications of Fab Tickets along with special drawings or blueprintsCalculate wire rope cut lengths, fitting requirements and selecting appropriate equipment to produce all varieties of wire rope assembliesSet up, operate, adjust, and maintain all wire rope production machines and equipmentSelect, write, and attach proper tags and labels to products; locate and interpret appropriate capacity tablesCount, record, and report inventory as requiredAttach and detach loads properlyCommunicate with all team members effectivelyPerform all duties to established quality standards and report defective or substandard material supplies or productsMaintain work area, equipment, and tools in a clean and organized manner, and follow all Safety GuidelinesEnsure compliance with all safety rules and regulationsReport on all safety concerns and issues to management immediatelySafely and properly attach and utilize all pulley and block systemsProperly select gear for the jobMaintain control of all loads at all timesManeuver loads through difficult and confined spacesOther duties as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:Attention to detailBasic math and computer skillsThe ability to read communication, work tickets, emails, memos, etc.Willingness to learnOther Requirements:Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screen and criminal background checkBe able to provide valid documentation in accordance with I-9 documentDisplay a professional and courteous attitudeReport to work at the designated start timeWilling to travel to various work sites or training as requiredWilling to work overtime, nights and weekends when necessaryStrictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures and comply with the Company's "Stop Work" policyWear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designation operations and production areas as directedHave the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and Supervisor with other duties as requiredEnthusiastically engage in opportunities for personal, team and organizational growth and productivityEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalentProven experience in a spooler role or related field.Working Conditions, Hours, Travel:This job operates in a warehouse and field environments.This is a full-time position with standard work hours of Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week and may require after-hours or weekend "call out" hours.Local/Regional travel is expected for this position. May also be required to travel occasionally for training.Physical Requirements:The nature of work involves considerable physical effort to perform mechanical tasks. Incumbents may be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE); lift up to 75 lbs of weight routinely during daily operations.Frequent use of stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tired.Bend, stretch, twist, or reach out, use multiple muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects and make fast, repeated movements of fingers, hands, and wrists.Employee may work in extreme heat/cold temperatures in external and warehouse settings with dirt and dust.May be required to work in confined spaces.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
