Job description
Fire Sprinkler FitterTesla is seeking a highly experienced Fire Sprinkler Fitter to support new construction, expansion, and retrofit projects across advanced manufacturing facilities. This role is heavily focused on installation, system integration, and construction execution with secondary responsibilities supporting commissioning, testing, and turnover. The Sprinkler Fitter will work within a fast-paced, high-volume industrial construction environment, installing and delivering code-compliant fire protection systems including wet, dry, preaction, deluge, foam, and underground fire mains. The ideal candidate is field-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of executing safely under aggressive schedules while maintaining strict adherence to NFPA standards and Tesla construction quality expectations.ResponsibilitiesInterpreting construction drawings, BIM models, and NFPA specifications to install fire protection systems accuratelyPerforming pipe fabrication and installation including cutting, threading, grooving, fitting, hangers, and seismic bracingInstalling sprinkler systems (wet, dry, preaction, deluge, standpipes), underground fire mains, fire pumps, backflows, risers, and specialty valvesSupporting system startup, commissioning, hydrostatic testing, flow testing, trip testing, and AHJ inspectionsEnsuring all installations meet NFPA 13, 14, 20, 24, 25, 291 standards, local AHJ requirements, and Tesla construction quality expectations while completing checklists, redlines, and turnover documentationDiagnosing and repairing installation-related issues, resolving punchlist items, and managing impairments during phased constructionOperating safely in compliance with OSHA standards, site-specific safety protocols, LOTO procedures, elevated work, and confined space requirementsRequirementsNevada State Fire Marshal G-Card and I-Card (or ability to obtain within reasonable time)10+ years of experience in fire sprinkler installation with a construction focusCompletion of a 5-year fire protection apprenticeship preferredDeep knowledge of NFPA 13, 24, 20, 25, and fire protection system hydraulicsOSHA 10 certification (OSHA 30 strongly preferred)Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver 50+ lbs.
