About Jerritt Canyon
nThe Jerritt Canyon deposit was discovered in 1972, and the first gold production from the property occurred in 1981. The Jerritt Canyon property contains 30,821 hectares of mining claims located in the mining-friendly state of Nevada. First Majestic acquired the Jerritt Canyon Gold Mine from Sprott Mining Inc. on April 30, 2021. In May 2023, operations were suspended to prioritize exploration and technical studies. Jerritt Canyon is now entering a new phase of evaluation and planning, requiring substantial technical support to advance the work necessary for a potential future restart of operations.
nThe Opportunity
nJerritt Canyon is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This role is responsible for supporting key accounting and financial reporting functions, including month-end and year-end close activities, account reconciliations, cost accounting, financial analysis, and audit support. The Senior Accountant will work closely with site leadership and corporate finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain compliance with IFRS, Company policies, and regulatory requirements, and support the continued growth and success of the operation.
nResponsibilities
nnCoordinate and support the company's accounting and financial reporting functions, including cost accounting activities.
nMaintain accounting records, general ledger accounts, and supporting documentation in accordance with IFRS, GAAP, and Company policies.
nAssist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
nPrepare and analyze account reconciliations, investigate variances, and proactively resolve discrepancies.
nAssist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting packages.
nSupport internal and external audits by coordinating schedules, documentation, and audit requests.
nAssist with compliance related to federal, state, local, payroll, sales/use, and other applicable taxes.
nPerform cost accounting activities, including cost variance analysis, inventory valuation, and operational cost reporting.
nSupport material inventory controls, including validation of inventory transactions and periodic inventory counts.
nReview purchasing and procurement transactions to ensure proper accounting treatment and compliance with Company policies.
nMaintain fixed asset records, including capital project tracking (CIP), depreciation, asset additions, disposals, and annual physical inventories.
nAssist with internal control compliance, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
nSupport accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, treasury, and other accounting functions as needed to ensure business continuity and operational success.
nPrepare and distribute financial reports, schedules, and supporting analyses for management and corporate reporting.
nBuild strong working relationships across operations, maintenance, supply chain, technical services, and corporate finance teams.
nContribute ideas and actions toward process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and financial controls.
nParticipate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

nEducation and Experience
nnBachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
n5+ years of progressive accounting experience required.
nCPA, CMA, or CPA-track strongly preferred.
nExperience with financial reporting, month-end close, account reconciliations, and internal controls required.
nExperience with cost accounting, inventory accounting, fixed assets, or capital project accounting preferred.
nMining, manufacturing, industrial, or other heavy industry experience preferred.
