Job description
Overview
Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications. Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. May report directly to a project lead or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Qualifications
Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering or related discipline
8 or more years of experience in software and hardware development processes and methodologies
Due to government restrictions, must be a U.S. citizen (no dual citizenships) or lawful permanent resident
Additional Qualifications
Masters of Science degree in Engineering or related discipline
Aerospace experience
Project management skills
Experience working within a defined software process
Working knowledge of automated test equipment (ATE)
Working knowledge of general purpose test equipment
Experience with hardware/software integration
Understanding of computer scripting languages
Capable of working in a lab or production environment
Capable of working with cross-functional disciplines (hardware, software, systems) in a team environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with MS Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project)
Experience with creating technical documents such as detail design documents and version description documents is required (experience with government/military documentation is a plus)
Experience working with Emerging Markets is a plus
Object Oriented Design, Visual Studio and .NET programming skills with Windows API knowledge is a plus
Experience in TestStand, LabWindows CVI, LabVIEW, and C programming languages is a plus
Familiarity with communications busses such as Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553, IEEE-1394 (FireWire), RS-232, RS-422/485, and IEEE-488 (GPIB) is a plus
Experience with software versioning control software and techniques is a plus
Experience generating and writing supporting documents such as test system software requirements, user manuals, software validation documents is a plus
System engineering skills/training is a plus
Experience working on Control Moment Gyroscope test software is a plus use of echarge for timekeeping.
