Senior Backend Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to help design, build, and scale software applications and platforms. This role combines hands-on development, technical leadership, and collaboration with customers. We're looking for someone who is passionate about solving complex problems, building reliable cloud-native systems, and mentoring others while maintaining a strong attention to detail. You should be experienced in leveraging modern AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, testing, debugging, and documentation while maintaining rigorous engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performing backend services and APIs using Python , GraphQL , and AWS .
Lead technical design and architecture decisions for cloud-native and distributed systems.
Collaborate with developers and customers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Engage directly with customers during discovery, solution design, and troubleshooting discussions.
Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and engineering best practices.
Drive improvements in reliability, security, observability, testing, and performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production and system-level issues.
Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining high standards of quality.
Required Skills & Qualifications
7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant backend development experience.
Expert-level Python development experience in production environments.
Strong experience designing and implementing GraphQL APIs and backend architectures.
Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-native application development.
Deep understanding of API design , microservices, distributed systems, and database design.
Experience with automated testing , CI/CD pipelines , monitoring, and operational best practices.
Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with strong attention to detail.
Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor other engineers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience gathering requirements, managing stakeholder expectations, and engaging directly with customers.
Proficiency with AI-powered developer tools and the ability to validate and review AI-generated code effectively.
Required for Employment:
