Job description

We're looking for a Senior Behavioral Scientist who can translate evidence-based behavioral science into real business impact. In this role, you'll work directly with senior leadership and product teams to solve critical problems including increasing member engagement, improving health outcomes, and driving smarter decision-making across the enterprise. You'll design and lead research studies, analyze behavioral data, consult on and build interventions, and scale solutions that matter. This is ideal for someone who gets excited about both rigorous science and practical implementation, and who wants to help shape how a major healthcare organization thinks about and applies behavioral insights.

What You Will Be Doing

Enterprise Behavioral Strategy & Consulting

Partner with senior executives and cross-functional teams to identify high-impact opportunities where behavioral science can advance core business priorities

Consult with stakeholders on business challenges, applying behavioral insights to improve decision-making, adoption, engagement, member experience, affordability, and health outcomes

Support enterprise transformation and change management efforts, including the adoption and ethical implementation of AI and emerging technologies

Develop frameworks and playbooks that make behavioral science accessible and actionable across the organization

Behavioral Research, Experimentation & Intervention Design

Conduct literature review and analyze qualitative/quantitative data to uncover behavioral patterns, decision-making barriers, and opportunities for improvement

Design and lead experiments: randomized controlled trials, A/B tests, quasi-experimental studies, and field experiments

Develop behaviorally informed interventions including messaging and engagement strategies, incentive designs, and digital experience enhancements

Diagnose behavioral barriers to technology adoption and design solutions to improve uptake

Partner with product, analytics, operations, and business teams to implement, test, refine, and scale solutions

Own measurement and evaluation frameworks to assess impact and build the evidence base for what works

Organizational Capability

Build internal capability through workshops, presentations, practical frameworks, tools, and one-on-one consulting

Stay current on emerging behavioral science research and translate findings into enterprise applications

Represent the organization externally through conferences, publications, industry partnerships, and speaking engagements as appropriate

What We Require

5+ years related work experience in behavioral science, experimental research, or related field

Related Master’s Degree required Advanced degree (Master's minimum) in behavioral science, decision science, data science, experimental economics, psychology, social science, or related field

Experience designing and conducting experiments in lab or field settings, including randomized controlled trials, A/B tests, and quasi-experimental designs

Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including experience with statistical modeling, computational methods and using statistical / analytical tools (R, Python or equivalent)

Strong communication skills with ability to translate complex research into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences

What We Prefer

PhD in a related field

Experience in one or more core industry sectors, preferably healthcare Demonstrated ability to balance multiple simultaneous projects and competing priorities

Experience building organizational capability and training teams on behavioral methods We'll be impressed if you have: A track record of seeing research through to implementation; you don't just publish findings, you help teams act on them

Genuine intellectual curiosity about how and why people make the decisions they do Comfort working with senior leaders and diverse stakeholder groups (clinicians, operations teams, product managers, executives)

A collaborative mindset; you'll be working across teams, not in isolation The ability to balance scientific rigor with practical constraints and business realities

A growth mindset and genuine interest in building new skills in data science, behavioral science, and technology

General Physical Demands

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.

Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.

Must be able to occasionally travel to multiple locations for work (i.e. travel to attend meetings, events, conferences).

Typical Annualized Offer/Hiring Range:

$109,300 - $136,600

Annualized Salary Range: $109,300 - $177,600

Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
