Job description

At Wendover Art Group, we do not just design products, we figure out how to make ideas real and how to manufacture them repeatedly at the highest standards of quality, design, and cost.

We are looking for a Senior Product Engineer who thrives at the intersection of product design, engineering, materials, manufacturing, and problem solving.

You will take creative concepts across signage, lighting, sculpture, mirrors, dimensional art, and custom installations and determine how they should actually be built.

You will design it, model it, prototype it, build it, test it, break it, improve it, and ultimately see it manufactured.

Working within our vertically integrated manufacturing environment, you will move directly between CAD, materials, equipment, prototypes, and the production floor to solve problems in real time.

The right person is equal parts engineer, product developer, problem solver, and hands-on builder, someone who gets energized when the answer isn't obvious and takes ownership of figuring it out.

Key Responsibilities

Own products from concept through production, including engineering, prototyping, testing, refinement, and manufacturing launch

Engineer creative concepts into buildable solutions, defining materials, dimensions, tolerances, hardware, joinery, finishes, assembly, and installation

Develop complete 3D models, CAD files, production drawings, BOMs, specifications, and manufacturing documentation

Build and test prototypes directly with materials, tooling, equipment, and production teams

Engineer for manufacturability, quality, cost, scalability, durability, and repeatability without compromising design intent

Research new materials, technologies, fabrication methods, and processes that expand what Wendover can create

Partner directly with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Industrial Design, and artisans to solve technical challenges

Understanding that small technical decisions have significant implications for quality, cost, safety, and performance

Ability to work effectively with designers, artisans, operators, technicians, engineers, and production leadership

Personal ownership of the finished product and the standard at which it is manufactured

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline

Strong experience developing physical products from concept through manufacturing

Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, Rhino, AutoCAD, or comparable CAD/3D modeling platforms

Ability to create production-ready drawings, specifications, BOMs, tolerances, and technical documentation

Strong understanding of materials, fabrication, assembly, tooling, fixtures, and prototyping

Experience troubleshooting manufacturing and product failures and translating findings into engineered solutions

Strong aesthetic judgment combined with technical discipline

Comfortable working hands-on within a manufacturing environment to balance design intent, manufacturability, quality, cost, and performance

High ownership, intellectual curiosity, urgency, and the ability to move between creative ambiguity and technical precision

Why Wendover

At Wendover, you won't engineer a product and hand it off for someone else to figure out how to build.

You have direct access to the people, equipment, materials, and manufacturing capabilities needed to take an idea from a screen to a physical product within the same building.

One project may involve engineered signage or integrated lighting. The next may require solving the structure of a dimensional sculpture, developing a new material application, or determining how to manufacture something we have never made before.

For an engineer who wants to create, build, experiment, solve difficult problems, and have visible ownership of the finished product, this is an opportunity to directly shape both our products and how we manufacture them.
