The Senior Production Manager sets the operating rhythm, develops the leadership bench across multiple layers (including supervisors and managers as applicable), and drives sustained improvements aligned to business strategy and future-state manufacturing.

Primary/Essential Responsibilities

Lead assigned value stream(s) to consistently achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost targets across shifts

Drive schedule attainment and flow: improve lead time and process time, reduce WIP/inventory, and optimize utilization of labor, equipment, and space

Establish the operating rhythm for the area (daily management, KPI reviews, tier meetings, escalation paths) and ensure disciplined execution

Partner with Operational Excellence to define and deliver the value stream roadmap aligned with future state and business strategy; sponsor CI sustainment

Partner with the Industrial Engineering team through their lead to identify improvement opportunities and request/define the data and KPIs needed to drive decisions and track results

Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Planning, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Customer Service to resolve constraints (materials, quality, capacity) and protect customer delivery

Evaluate and implement process, technology, and equipment improvements to increase throughput, productivity, and profitability (including business cases/ROI when applicable)

Lead, coach, and develop a multi-layer organization (supervisors, team leaders, hourly workforce, and—where applicable—other people leaders/managers); drive accountability, engagement, and talent development

Ensure quality execution through robust containment, corrective actions, and prevention of recurrence for operational and mechanical issues

Support annual budget planning and compliance; manage key cost drivers (labor, overtime, productivity) and identify cost‑saving opportunities

Ensure performance management routines are executed on time (goals, coaching, reviews, compensation inputs as applicable) and review disciplinary actions for consistency and policy compliance

Ensure compliance with Corporate Safety Policies, OSHA and EPA standards; lead incident response, emergency resolution, and business continuity for the department

Help drive daily alignment between production and warehouse/logistics, ensuring priorities, constraints, and execution plans are synchronized to protect delivery
