We're partnering with a high-performing investment management firm in Chicago looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer. This is an opportunity to join a team of talented, collaborative professionals who combine technical excellence with a genuinely supportive and business-focused culture.
You'll design and build enterprise services and APIs that power investment, financial, and operational data across the firm. Success in this role requires both strong technical expertise and the ability to work closely with business stakeholders to solve complex problems and shape scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop enterprise services, APIs, and shared platforms
Translate complex business concepts into scalable domain models and software solutions
Build high-performance APIs and data-driven applications
Partner directly with business users and stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions
Influence architecture, service design, data access, caching, messaging, and distributed systems
Contribute to code reviews, mentoring, and engineering best practices
Develop expertise across investments, funds, valuations, cash flows, accounting, and performance data
Required Experience
7+ years of software engineering experience
Strong C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core development skills
Deep understanding of object-oriented design, domain modelling, and software architecture
Experience building REST APIs and service-oriented applications
Strong SQL, relational database, and data modelling experience
Ability to work independently, take ownership, and navigate ambiguity
Strong communication skills with a business-facing mindset
Preferred Experience
Asset Management, Investment Management, Private Markets, or Financial Services
Experience with investment, portfolio, fund, valuation, accounting, or performance data
Enterprise data platforms, data warehousing, messaging, CQRS, event-driven architecture, or distributed systems
Core Technologies

Location & Requirements
Hybrid: 3 days per week in Chicago
Must currently reside in the Greater Chicago area
