Overview
The Tier 3 System Engineer is responsible for leading Tier 1 & Tier 2 helpdesk technicians and providing technical guidance to operations teams and end users. The role supports major operations initiatives, ensures day‑to‑day ticket closure, and drives IT infrastructure management.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical guidance to an operations team mainly comprised of Tier 1 / Tier 2 technicians.
Provide direct assistance to end-users, ensuring customer satisfaction and efficient troubleshooting.
Transform requirements into actionable next steps through business process and business analysis.
Develop and nurture relationships with external customers and stakeholders.
Manage IT infrastructure, including disaster recovery, backups, O365, Intune, AVD, SCCM, Hyper‑V, ESXi, VDI, AWS, Azure, Axonius, SAN, SolarWinds, etc.
Perform network administration tasks, such as firmware upgrades on Cisco switches and routers.
Use ServiceNow IT Service Management for incident, problem, change, and configuration management.
Assist the Operations Manager with active operations projects and security compliance alignment.
Act as an advisor in a federal agency environment, develop policy, procedure, and SOP documentation.
Supervise software/patch management tools such as SCCM, including design, implementation, daily operations, and maintenance.
Implement centralized, automated methods for software distribution, OS deployment, reporting, and logging.
Maintain IT equipment and uptime via break‑fix operations.
Manage Microsoft enterprise services software (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, etc.).
Provide SQL/database administration support and PowerShell scripting.

Position Requirements
U.S. Citizen.
Bachelor’s degree.
Active TS/SCI clearance.
Minimum 15 years of experience.
Remote work available; onsite as required.
Desired Qualifications
Current DHS component support and DHS EOD.
CompTIA Security+ certification.
Majority experience in a team lead or operations technical lead role.
Certifications: Azure 900, AWS Cloud Practitioner.
Pay Range
$120,000 - $150,000. Base pay may vary based on location and other factors.
