NOW RECRUITING – SITE SAFETY & HEALTH OFFICER (SSHO)
Location: Rapid City / Black Hills Region, South Dakota
Project: Federal Construction Project
Schedule: Full-Time | 40 Hours per Week
Anticipated Duration: Through July 2028
Safety Solutions LLC is seeking qualified candidates for a long-term Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) staffing opportunity supporting an active federal construction project in western South Dakota.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide daily onsite construction safety oversight.
Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926/1910, applicable EM 385-1-1 requirements, and federal project safety standards.
Implement and maintain Accident Prevention Plans (APPs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and site-specific safety procedures.
Conduct site inspections, identify hazards, and coordinate corrective actions.
Oversee subcontractor safety compliance and high-risk construction activities.
Work directly with project management and field personnel to maintain a safe working environment.
Required Qualifications:
Documented experience as an SSHO or construction safety professional on federal or comparable construction projects.
Ability to meet applicable USACE SSHO qualification requirements.
OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety training.
Current First Aid/CPR certification.
Working knowledge of EM 385-1-1, APPs, AHAs, and construction safety regulations.
Strong communication, documentation, and field leadership skills.
Local candidates are strongly preferred.
