Staff Accountant (43144)
Our client is an organization in the Waukesha County area that’s looking for a Staff Accountant. Our client is looking for someone with 1+ years of experience, has excellent communication skills, and is organized. This company offers internal growth opportunities, high visibility, and a tenured team. This position is onsite.
The salary for this position is up to $70K - $80K.
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up and maintain project records in D365, including budgets, contracts, change orders, costs, and billing requirements.
Partner with Project Managers to track project costs, resolve coding discrepancies, analyze variances, and validate forecasts.
Prepare accurate and timely project billings, including required client forms, lien waivers, certified payroll reports, and supporting documentation.
Monitor accounts receivable and retention, follow up on overdue balances, document collection efforts, and escalate payment issues.
Coordinate subcontractor payment applications, lien requirements, insurance documentation, final billings, and project closeout activities.
Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial schedules while supporting reporting, audits, tax requirements, and process improvements.
The Staff Accountant will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
1+ years of relevant accounting experience; construction or project accounting experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations preferred.
Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a high level of accuracy and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and cross-functional teams.
