Position Summary
As a Staff Data Scientist at Walmart, you will leverage advanced analytical techniques and machine learning to transform complex data into actionable business insights. What you'll do
Identify and source relevant data from multiple business domains, ensuring data quality and suitability for analysis.
Develop and implement data strategies aligned with business objectives to unlock value from data assets.
Build, validate, and tune predictive models using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques.
Create clear and impactful data visualizations to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.
Translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions and actionable recommendations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy scalable models and monitor their performance.
Mentor junior team members on analytical methods, coding best practices, and data storytelling.
What you'll bring
Proven expertise in predictive analytics, machine learning algorithms, and data science methodologies.
Proficiency in Python programming and advanced data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Plotly, or Tableau.
Strong knowledge of data strategy, including data quality standards, governance, and scalable data storage solutions.
Experience conducting exploratory data analysis and applying statistical methods to interpret complex datasets.
Ability to assess, validate, and tune models using best practices and relevant evaluation metrics.
Understanding of business context to translate requirements into actionable data-driven solutions.
Skilled in coding, testing, and deploying models and data applications in production environments.

Sunnyvale, California US-11789: The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00
Bellevue, Washington US-11663: The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00 - $264,000.00
Bentonville, Arkansas US-30008: The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Option 3: 6 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
