About This Role
The Staff Nurse in the PACU at Mount Sinai Hospital provides safe and competent quality care to patients, utilizing nursing theory and research. This part-time role is ideal for nurses who are dedicated to patient-centered care and collaboration within a healthcare team.

What You'll Do
Deliver patient care by applying the nursing process based on theory and evidence-based practice.
Assess and evaluate patient care needs using critical thinking skills.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care and health promotion.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing.
Role model the tenets of Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care.
Initiate service recovery for patients and families with concerns.
Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying barriers for improvement.
Document nursing practice accurately to support quality and performance improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) acceptable if matriculated in a BSN program.
Experience:
Required PACU and ICU experience.
Licenses & Certifications:
Current RN License in New York State.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
ACLS certification required.
PALS certification required.
