About This Role
The Staff Nurse in the PICC Insertion Team at Mount Sinai Morningside is responsible for the care activities and goal achievements of assigned patients, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient responses to care. This role is ideal for nurses who excel in collaborative environments and are committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

**Schedule:** Full-Time, Day shift (11am to 9pm)
What You'll Do
Conduct nursing assessment based on interview, examination, observation, and review of records of the patient.
Ensure that the patient’s progress is reflected in progress notes and revised care plans.
Perform discharge planning consistent with the patient’s status and inter‑departmental communication.
Communicate information to the patient based on their level of awareness and readiness to learn.
Support orientation of new staff members by providing feedback and acting as a preceptor.
Function as a professional role model and mentor for students and volunteers.
Manage patient care assignments reflecting patient needs and personnel skill levels.
Organize provision of care to meet priority needs of patients and unit.
Communicate condition of patients requiring additional intervention to leadership.
Participate in the development of other staff members.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; Associate degree in nursing considered with relevant experience or active matriculation in a BSN Program.
Experience
1 year ICU nursing experience or 2 years' Stepdown or Telemetry RN experience preferred.
Licenses & Certifications
Current RN License in New York State.
BLS certification from AHA required.
ACLS certification from AHA required.
