Job description
An opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to provide critical coverage at a behavioral health facility in Anchorage, Alaska. This is an 8-week contract position supporting a small, dedicated team focused on acute behavioral health care across pediatric and detox specialties.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform order entry using HCS Web EMR (onsite training provided)
Conduct Omnicell medication checks through Citrix/OCRA Remote Desktop system
Monitor drug therapy closely to ensure patient safety and compliance
Collaborate with pharmacy technician on medication distribution
Support on-call coverage as needed, with weekend hours currently not required
Qualifications and Desired Experience: Valid Alaska pharmacist license required
Experience in acute care or behavioral health pharmacy preferred
Ability to adapt quickly to onsite systems and workflows
Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills in a clinical setting
Schedule: Mondays 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM weekly
Additional weekday coverage August 3rd-7th, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Potential to cover other weekdays if needed during staff absences
Work Environment: Small team with one pharmacist (Tues-Fri), one full-time technician, and a Director of Pharmacy currently on leave
